Our client is a leading nickel producer with operations in WA. The increasing demand for Nickel for the EV market has led to the decision to commence a new nickel project that will use a shaft hoist system. The mine for the Class 1 nickel sulphide deposit is in construction phase at present. This mine will be one of the few shaft mines in Australia and will create an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified Geotechnical Engineer to build skills.
This is an exciting ground floor opportunity to get exposure to the construction of a new mine, gain exposure to shaft hoist systems and gain significant geotechnical mentoring and guidance from some of the leading geotechnical experts in mining today.
As a Geotechnical Engineer for the site you will be primarily responsible for providing operation support and service to the underground mines. A comprehensive position description will be provided on request.
To be successful you will possess;
• Tertiary qualification in Geotechnical Engineer (or equivalent)
• One - three years Geotechnical Engineering experience including some operational experience in underground mining.
• Exposure to Deswik, Rocsience™ suite, & numerical modelling packages would be highly regarded.
• Exposure to tunnelling and underground construction would be advantageous.
