Project Exploration Geologist

  • Two flagship projects just outside of Kalgoorlie  
  • Greenfields exploration and extensional targeting  
  • FIFO from Perth, stay in a 4-bedroom house in Kalgoorlie
  • 12 months contract with the opportunity to go permanent. 

MPi are pleased to have exclusively partnered with a Western Australian focussed mineral exploration company with projects in the Eastern Goldfields, the Murchison and Gascoyne regions. The portfolio of exploration projects has high potential for new gold discoveries within trucking distance of existing operations and for the discovery of nickel-copper-platinum group element (PGE) mineralisation. 

To be successful in this role, you will have strong communication skills, a keen desire to roll up your sleeves and play a pivotal role in the development and implementation of exploration programs and relish the opportunity to be involved with the company’s exploration activities. 

This is a wide-ranging role. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:  

  • Managing the RC/DIAMOND/AC drilling programs
  • Management and liaison with drilling contractors
  • Data acquisition and entry
  • Target Generation and ranking 
  • Geological modelling
  • Work in the Perth office when required (8-hour days).

As a Project Geologist, you would then naturally be involved in;
  • Computer resource work including interpretations 
  • Wireframing & geological modelling  
  • Drill hole planning
  • Refining drill targets and target generation work.

On Offer:
A role that requires and allows you to take over a project; a small supportive team and the opportunity to work autonomously. You will be working a maximum of 18 days per month, Monday to Friday, 12-hour days when on site. If you do work on a public holiday or weekend, you will get time in lieu for the days.  Reporting directly to the Directors (both Geologists) you will be playing an instrumental role for the company. You will be looking after the exploration programmes of their two flagship projects just outside of Kalgoorlie.
