Senior Resource Geologist

MPi are pleased to partner exclusively with an ASX listed copper developer/explorer with active exploration programs and development plans being conducted across several projects in WA. They are now looking to employ a permanent Senior Resource Geologist to assist with these expanding geology programs.

Reporting directly to the Chief Geologist, you will be responsible for overseeing resource and reserve estimates along with ensuring appropriate and best practice geological data capture methodology is adopted. You will work closely with the exploration team to interpret and optimise drilling activities and you will work alongside the exploration geologists on site. 
About the role 
  • Responsible for the Exploration and Development department's Mineral Resource Estimates (MRE) to 2012 JORC sign off status and ability to sign off on same. This currently includes three separate copper deposits
  • Generate regular internal reportable MRE’s
  • Liaise with field-based geologists to ensure that data QA/QC for the MRE’s are fit for purpose
  • Liaise with the Database Manager to ensure the dependability of the company’s data capture system and its fitness for use for MREs and by company exploration geologists for target generation and drill hole programme generation
  • Assist the Chief Geologist and project staff in due diligence activities
  • Liaise closely with project and engineering staff with reserve calculations

About you
The candidate will have a background in exploration and/or mine geology of a minimum of 5 years and preferably 10 with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in estimating MRE’s. Working knowledge of geostatistics is essential and experience with Micromine resource estimation software is preferred but not essential.

You will have the opportunity to grow with a company forging ahead on both an exploration and development front. This role offers unique flexibility to work from the corporate office and home, along with the occasional site visit.
