Senior Underground Mine Geologist
- 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie
- Unique opportunity with a growing high grade nickel sulphide producer
- Highly attractive day rate $900-$1100 per day + super based on experience.
Underpinned by long-life high-grade nickel sulphide resource and reserve inventories, they control a series of long-life mines and highly prospective exploration ground in a region that has been producing the highest-grade nickel sulphide for over 20 years. The company has recently commenced production at several underground nickel operations.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager of Geology, you will be responsible for all aspects of the underground geology functions of the mine.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day to day mine geology function including supervision of mine geologists, core yard technicians and contractors.
- Planning, implementation and supervision of grade control and resource definition drill programmes
- Ensuring the quality and integrity of geological data
- Assisting with development and maintenance of geological models
- Assist with mine to mill reconciliations and periodic reporting
- Collaborating with senior management to establish and manage a continuous improvement program for all aspects of geological operations.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in Geology
- 6+ years’ experience in an underground environment
- Must have deep base metal experience
