Are you already planning your exit from your current mining industry employer? Or are you planning to stick around?

In this month’s MPi poll, we want to know.

A recent report on future work trends by analysts at Korn Ferry found that, in the two years since the pandemic hit, a substantial number of employees have had second thoughts about what they want from their jobs, the companies they work for, and their lives. The result? Many people are on the move.

“Employees are now starting to ask human questions about the work they perform,” the report said. “Why am I doing this? What is it for? How can we do it better? Many are choosing to leave their jobs.”

While Korn Ferry looked at the situation across industries, the job-change trend is particularly challenging for the Australian mining industry, which was already experiencing a skills shortage before the pandemic. (We’ve taken a deep dive into Korn Ferry’s findings and how the trends they identified affect the mining industry, here).

Are you one of the employees thinking of leaving? Or are you happy to stay where you are? What are your reasons for going or staying? That’s the question we’re asking in this month’s Mining People Poll.
