Senior Exploration Geologist

We strive to provide a level of flexibility that matches the needs of the mining industry from complete Greenfields exploration teams for short term contract drilling campaigns, to permanent senior and technical professionals for ASX listed producers and explorers.

MPI have partnered with a mid-tier producer and explorer located primarily in the Goldfields region of Western Australia. Their asset portfolio includes several operating mines, a processing plant and several tenements in the Goldfields area with a focus on Gold. They also have highly prospective tenements for Nickel, Copper and Lithium.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to join this team. As a key member of this exploration division, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in advancing their exploration projects across near mine resource development and Greenfields tenements and contributing to the growth of the company.

The Role:
  • Planning, scheduling, and undertaking of drilling, mapping, and surface sampling.
  • Generation and ranking of exploration targets.
  • Interpret results by building 2D or 3D building geological models in Micromine.
  • Geological mapping, including interpretation, preparation of maps and presenting data.
  • Training and mentoring Junior Geologists and field staff.
  • Responsible environmental management.
  • Operate in accordance with the company’s stakeholder policy.
The Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in mineral exploration, and a Bachelor's or higher degree in Geology or a related field.
  • Proven history of working in both Resource Development and Exploration, in Gold or Lithium.
  • Proficiency in geological modelling software and GIS tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Previous experience working with Lithium in Western Australia is highly desirable.
