On their behalf, MPI seek a Head of Department - Processing to manage the effective and safe operation and maintenance of the processing plant including metallurgical services and associated infrastructure.
The role:
Reporting to the General Manager and deputising on his period of R&R, the role is responsible for all planning, development, optimisation and production of the mineral processing facility, ensuring full compliance with government and statutory requirements.
Your duties will include but not limited to;
- Ensure all activities are undertaken safely to meet or exceed company and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and monitor the relevant business plans, budgets and work schedules for the processing team, ensuring performance is of a high standard.
- Lead the processing department to achieve business objectives and maintain the assets to produce gold and copper to meet and exceed targets for production and specification.
- Plan the manufacture of plant equipment throughout the development phase with an assessment of origin relative to cost, quality and availability.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure full regulatory compliance across legislation, safety and environment.
- Manage commercial contracts and performance of engaged contractors and consultants.
To support the ongoing development of the national workforce you must possess an adaptable approach to work with a desire to coach and mentor other through strong cross-cultural communication skills.
- Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering (extractive metallurgy, chemistry or chemical engineering).
- Minimum of 15 years' experience in senior leadership positions in metals extraction operations.
- Expatriate experience in PNG or developing countries will be highly regarded.
