Alternate Open Pit Manager / Senior Mining Engineer

Our client, a successful Australian mining company is seeking to appoint a Senior Mining Engineer / QM, to oversee the mining operation of their open pits at their flagship operation in the Goldfields of WA.

Total material movement is circa 500 - 600,000 BCM per month, including ore extraction from lodes typically less than 5m width, and will suit individuals experienced in successfully exploiting smaller deposits.

Reporting to the Open Pit Manager, and deputising for them in their absence, you will be responsible for:

  • The safe day to day leadership and management of the mine, including D&B and Load & Haul.
  • Overseeing the technical design and planning/scheduling for the mine, and
  • Providing leadership and technical mentoring to the mine technical team.
This is a key leadership role within the mining department and will appeal to a highly dynamic Senior Mining Engineer with a demonstrable track record of success in the safe and effective extraction of narrow lode orebodies.
